OBSTACLE COURSES

 

L.A. Steelcraft, developer of the L.A.P.D. S.W.A.T Training Center's obstacle course, and Olympic Decathlon Medalist, Dave Thoreson's curriculum based course, offers a full range of obstacle courses. We encourage anyone who believes they can design a course, to lay it out, then order any of our 22 obstacles as you deem necessary. Or we will assist with design for a custom course.

Police Academy Course

The Los Angeles Police Department asked us to build an obstacle course for their S.W.A.T. Team. The success of that world class, and extremely difficult course lead to a series of obstacle courses for the many High School Police Academies that have sprung up around the country.
These courses are perfectly matched to teenage groups, with an appropriate level of difficulty.

Thoreson Fitness Curriculum

TFC-150 (150 meters) $11,083.00 or TFC-75 (75 meters) $8,500.00

We developed this course with Dave Thoreson, world record holder in the decathlon, for elementary school. It is a curriculum based and designed to develop complete physical fitness and mental stamina, advanced self-awareness and increased self-esteem. These courses motivate through a system of incentives, and measured progress. Includes: Site plan, Thoreson events; certificates; course material; curriculum package with signage. Combination Climbers This main event comes with your choice of poles or ropes. Incline ladder and horizontal ladder with four each attached horizontal bar workout stations. 11'-6" high rope/pole climb in combinations of 2 or 4. 6' or 8' high ladder, with 2 chinning bars per side. Ladder unit in 20' or 30' lengths.

Steel reinforced thermo plastic roto-molded vault walls, 8' wide. Available in 4', 5' and 6' heights for added difficulty. Wall sections (tongue and groove) are slid together (2 sections make up 1 wall). Red/Green directional labels included.

Parallel Bars

We offer several lengths and heights of this classic obstacle. 3', 4' and 5'-6" heights and 8' and 10' lengths available. Powder coated or galvanized steel. Bars 1-7/8" OD, spaced 21" apart at top. Bars angled for leg movement. Add PC to any model to have powdercoat added. Additional cost for powder coated models.

Hurdle Jumps

These jumps are made of steel reinforced thermo plastic roto-molded, 24" H x 8' L. Excellent in sets of 3 for endurance training, spaced approximately 8' to 10' apart, as space permits. Jump sections (tongue & groove) are slid together (2 sections make up 1 jump). Sold individually. Brown only.

Decline Ladder and Climber

This event builds upper arm strength. Available in swinging ring or fixed bar models. Declines from a height of 8' to 7'. 9 or 13 hand loops, 2-7/8" OD uprights and header, with 1-3/8" OD ladder start step on IL models. Approx. 8' H x 11' L x 2'-6" W with powder coat finish.

Crawl Under Bars

Set of Crawl/Roll Under Bars, totaling 2' H x 4' L x 8' W, fabricated from three each 1-5/8" OD fromed steel posts and flat bar, spaced 24" apart and finished with a polyurethane powder coated finish. Also provided is a 6' long padding for the entrance header area.
